Spring Break Games
The day started around 8 a.m. for both Meredith Softball houses in Kissimmee Florida.
Sarah, Maria, Keenan, Lauren, Hayley, Charlie, Kaitlyn, Ellen, Bryce, Brittany
Courtney, Alyssa, Madison, Julia, Eran, Katie, Taylor, Janelle, Erica, Kayla, Megan
Both houses had a few girls take the reigns for cooking breakfast, which many other teammates were very thankful for. Turkey sausage, sausage, eggs, biscuits, fruit, cereal, and lots of coffee started off the first day in Florida for the Angels. Following breakfast music was turned up and straighteners were turned on in order to put on our jerseys and get ready for the day. Our bus driver Ellen picked us up at 10:00 a.m. and we were off to the fields.
Our first game at 1:00 definitely lived up to the Florida heat. Many of us found ourselves refilling our Powerade bottles repeatedly while also watching our farmers tans come in full force. Coming up a few runs short, we lost our first game against Moravian from Bethlehem Pennsylvania 8-5. We followed taking another tough loss against Susquehanna 8-4.
Dinner was served at House 1 at 7:00 p.m. later that night. Multiple boxes of Marcos pizza filled the house and then quickly filled our stomachs.
Curfew tonight was as usual 11:00 p.m. in order to rest up for another double header tomorrow! Day 2 on our Spring Break business trip awaits.
